It’s at Amazon.com as well. But must people don’t realize that companies make products specifically for other companies, most of the time under another name. Best Buy may have a contract with Samsung.

Like most every other Consumer Electronics Manufacturer, Samsung is in the process of cutting over production to their 2009 products. Many 2008 Samsung products are simply out of stock and out of production awaiting the release of the 2009 product line. Expect BB and other major retailers to start to receive 2009 products on or around March 23, 2009. It can become difficult to find a quality 2008 consumer electronics product still in stock at this time of year.

The US Samsung site lists the BD-P2500, while the Canadian site lists the BD-P2550. They are almost the same (see link re differences). Both are current models and since they are reviewed favourably they are likely not always available because they are sold out. As with many popular models of electronics equipment you may have to order or wait … after all they are imported.

At CES in January two new Samsung BD players were announced (See 2nd link) but it wasn’t clear if they will supplement or replace the existing models. If the letter, the 2550 may be in short supply because it is being replaced.
