I don’t want to sound like an idiot, but I don’t really know what the deal with blue ray is. Can it be played on a regular player or do you need a blue ray player? Also please explain what exactly blue ray is.

I currently have a dvd player/surround sound player that came with speakers. I bought a Samsung 52″ LCD and want to upgrade to a Blue Ray player. Does Samsung offer a blue ray player with surround sound? I am looking for a combo because I am sick of using different remotes for different players!

I just wonder if one or the other is going to be the next beta or laser disc in a few years. I am also wondering if blue rays play on computers.
